Toro is committed to the sustainable and responsible development of Western Australia’s newest industry, uranium mining.
Our environmental objective is to maintain the abundance, diversity, geographic distribution and productivity of flora and fauna at species and ecosystem levels by avoiding or managing any negative impacts.
To minimise clearing and land disturbance, Toro has designed the mine in a way that confines infrastructure to an agreed mining footprint. No endangered, threatened or vulnerable species have been positively identified in the area of disturbance for the project.
Toro is committed to conducting ongoing internal and external environmental audits, and regular environmental and radiological monitoring surveys have been occurring for several years to establish a baseline against which to measure impacts of the mine.
