Toro continues to hold key exploration ground in Central and Northern Australia in geological provinces known to be highly prospective for uranium. We have a number of Joint Ventures with other companies exploring for metals other than uranium, including Northern Minerals (rare earth elements), TNG Limited (copper, gold, base metals) and Rum Jungle Resources (potash).
Namibia, in West Africa has significant uranium resources, and is the world’s fourth largest uranium supplier, based on production from the Rossing, Langer Heinrich and Husab mines. Toro is a Joint Venture partner with Deep Yellow Limited in three exploration licences in Namibia located in similar geological terrains as these large mines. Further details are available from the Deep Yellow website.
In 2014, Toro acquired an interest in Strateco Resources as part of a transaction with The Sentient Group, now a major shareholder in Toro. Strateco is owner of the 27Mlb Matoush Uranium Project in Quebec. Further details are available from the Strateco website.
